Thanks to the Pell Grant program, Earning Your Dream Degree Just Became Easier!

Earning your college degree is made easier through the federal Pell Grant Program.  A Pell Grant program is one of the numerous financial programs to promote postsecondary education to students.  This is a need-based grant (meaning, your financial need is taken into account), and unlike loans, the money from the federal government does not need to be repaid. The grant can cover your tuition, rent, books, and even school supplies.

The U.S. Department of Education uses a standard formula to verify your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number.  Determining the EFC is the primary step for determining eligibility since the program only caters to low-income students.  Based on EFC, the amount of financial aid is also determined.

Aside from the EFC screening, the following are other criteria to be eligible for the Pell Grant progam:

  • You have to be an undergraduate student who has not earned any bachelor’s degree.
  • You’re a U.S. citizen (or eligible noncitizen).
  • You are a high school graduate with diploma or passed the General Educational Development (or GED).
  • You can show that you can benefit from the Pell Grant program.
  • You have accomplished the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.\
If you’re one of the students waiting for a miracle to help you out with the financial burden of entering college, then it’s the right time to apply for the Pell Grant program.  Just think about it, the maximum amount of Pell grant aid that is awarded can reach over $4,000. Furthermore, this grant is accepted by 5,400 academic institutions across the country.

So, start applying now for the Pell grant program before the next school year begins. Contact the local offices in your state or your high school guidance counselor to get more information on the program.

You can make your dream a reality!  With the Pell Grant program, you have an opportunity to earn the college degree you’ve been yearning for.
