Resume Length in Question

For years, college counselors, recruiters and human resource coordinators have been disseminating the instructions to keep resumes to one page. This is beginning to change. A recent study discovered that 44 percent of recruiters actually prefer two pages. In the digital era, it is no longer necessary to have a neatly packaged resume that conveniently fits on one physical 8.5"x11" paper. When it comes to executive roles, the study discovered that three pages is of ideal resume length.

According to the study, many employers are willing to spend more time reviewing application materials in efforts to determine the best qualified candidate. Most companies would rather exert additional effort in reviewing documentation than wasting meaningless time with applicants in a lengthy interview.
