Have an Exciting Career as a PR expert

The PR industry seems to be growing more than ever. The U.S. Labor Department predicted the public relations profession will grow by 26% over the next seven years.  This has a lot to do with the increasing number of careers involved in public relations.

Traditionally, public relations, alongside with advertising, marketing, and promotions, primarily deals with market research within a company.  But PR also involves advertising, market research, promotions, and product development.   This is needed to make a company visible in the market.

The scope of PR is dynamic.  You will be in charge of arranging activities, expanding network, and building new relations.  In short, in PR, your main task is to “sell your company, products, events, and services.” You will be closely working with people within and outside your company, making PR more exciting.

A lot of people have joined the PR industry since small to multinational companies employ more and more PR specialists. In 2006 alone, the industry provided 583,000 jobs across the country. These were specialized jobs in sales, marketing, public relation, advertising, and promotions management.  A PR specialist, aside from earning a relatively high median salary of $82,180, also has the chance to travel as part of the company’s promotions.

Career opportunities are endless when it comes to public relations, since PR professionals are virtually needed in every industry.   In order to land a job in this exciting and vibrant field, strong communication skills and creativity are needed.  Online courses can help you acquire fundamental skills to excel in the PR field.
