Federal Job Openings

The FBI has a growing “wanted list,” and it’s not just about criminals or terrorists in hiding. Rather, the FBI is looking to hire more recruits. Federal job openings include agents, intelligence analysts, language specialists, IT professionals, and finance experts.

The current economic downturn is causing major panic to a growing number of job seekers in need of companies hiring now. But with 2,100 staff vacancies, along with 850 special agents who will eventually be transferred to more critical positions, one of the best places to look for local jobs hiring or state job openings would be federal job openings. It's said that the FBI is making one of its largest application sprees since its inception.

This hiring surge is partly rooted in 9/11, when the agency was criticized for not having enough language specialists. The agency was also criticized for not upgrading its computer systems in time.
Under pressure to answer to all these criticisms and to generate public confidence, FBI Assistant Director John Raucci mentioned that the FBI is working diligently to hire qualified professionals, particularly in areas such as foreign language translation and computer science. In addition, the FBI is in need of workers who have a deep sense of responsibility and passion to protect the nation’s security from terrorists or any other similar group.

Aside from national security, the FBI has also been investigating cases of corporate fraud due to the current financial crisis. Hence, federal job openings for finance and accounting experts are also in demand.
