Cybercities: Dreamlands for Techies!

If you’re in search of the hottest IT hub in the world, you may not have to look very far.  If you live in California, then you’re close to the world’s top cybercity, San Jose, California. San Jose still is the number one place where you can find the largest concentration of technology and IT workers who earn higher salaries compared to other careers.

The American Electronics Association (AeA) reported last June that San Jose, California offered more techie jobs and had a growth rate five times higher than other states.  Furthermore, a large proportion of its IT workforce is also among the best-paid in the nation.

On the average, an engineer from an IT company in San Jose earns $144,828 annually, compared to the same engineering job in Oklahoma City that receives a yearly rate of $51,282.

But the expansion of the IT industry is not limited to San Jose alone.  The AeA report also identified other burgeoning cybercities, such as San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Portland and Denver.  This proves that the IT sector is still one of the fastest growing industries to date.

As predicted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the IT industry is experiencing a 68 percent increase in output growth rate, beginning from 2002 up to 2012.  In addition, the demand for more techie workers will continuously grow due to the rapid development of computer technology, the creation of new computer applications, and more importantly, the growing importance of information security.  At the same time, this trend also has resulted into a new breed of techie workers: programming and software engineers, technical support analysts, enterprise systems engineers, database developers and administrators, Web developers and administrators, network designers and administrators, digital media artists, and technical writers.

So if you want to be a tech worker and earn big bucks, learn all the basics skills and new techniques in IT.

You can start by earning an IT degree!

Remember, IT career opportunities might be endless, but you’ll be facing tough competition.  With an  IT degree, you’ll definitely have an edge to help you land a job in one of the top cybercities in the country.
