3 Jobs to Look Out For!

The 2008 issue of “Parade Magazine” was chockfull of information on careers in the US. Aside from revealing the richest celebrities like Tiger Woods, Oprah Winfrey, and Steven Spielberg, who each have more than $100 million earnings, the magazine also identified the top paying jobs in the coming years.

According to Parade Magazine, even if there’s an issue of employment recession, three careers are expected to dominate the workforce: Information Technology, Law and, Online Media. These are seen as rising fields in terms of job security and high compensation.

Information Technology
IT continues to expand as we rely more on technology.  This expansion resulted to a new breed of IT careers such as computer system analysis, database administration, network analysis, computer software engineering and design.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected that the IT industry will yield 489,000 jobs in 2016.  Since these professionals develop, maintain and design our computer systems, they get commanding salaries ranging from $91,000 to as high as $200,000. The more we become technologically dependent in the coming years, the more that we will need IT professionals.

Online Media
Advancement of technology and computers resulted to a new workforce devoted to the Internet. Online media careers are booming at this point due to the global demand for new websites, data processing, web search portals, etc.

Companies have invested on web artists and writers who will help showcase their products or services to a bigger market. In 2006 alone, 383,000 jobs in this category were created, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.   These techies earn as much as $120,000 just with the creation of a website.

Law
Lawyers are seen publicly as advocators and advisers. From legal counseling to court action, these professionals get high salaries for their services.

First-year attorneys in a small firm typically earn $72,500 and can get as high as $137,000. Even legal-support workers can earn $69,500 a year.  You can practice your legal profession in corporate law, international law, litigation, or intellectual property. The legal system workforce is expected to grow up to 844,000 in 2016.
